Cedar Hill Girls Basketball Advances to First State Championship in 28 Years
Rylan Jones scored a team-high 23 points as the Cedar Hill High School Girls Basketball Team advanced to a State Championship Game for the first time since 1997.
The #10th ranked Lady Longhorns (29-8) defeated Plano East, 61-51, in the UIL Class 6A, Division I Semifinals on Tuesday night in Fort Worth. Here's a photo gallery from the game.
Cedar Hill will face Humble Summer Creek (28-11) in the UIL Class 6A, Division I State Championship Game at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at the Alamodome in San Antonio:

Session tickets for the championship games are now on sale. As soon as your semifinal game is over, you can encourage your fans to purchase their discounted championships tickets at that time.
This will be Cedar Hill's third trip to the State Championship Game. The Lady Longhorns reached the Class 4A Championship Game in both 1996 and 1997.
Cedar Hill, which finished third in Class 6A-District 11, could become the first team to place third in a district and win a state championship.
Summer Creek, which finished the 2024-2025 season unranked, won District 6A-23 with a 13-1 record. The north Houston suburban school that opened in 2009 will be making its first trip to the state title game, after losing to Duncanville in the 2024 semifinals, 39-31.
