The Cedar Hill ISD Innovation Office earned its first ‘Project Lead The Way’ (PLTW) Grant recently.
The $10,000 grant will further training for Cedar Hill ISD Engineering Teachers, and it was made possible by the PLTW partner, ON Semiconductor Foundation.
“This pretty much ensures training for the engineering pathway teachers and supplies for engineering lessons,” CHISD Innovation Coordinator Tiara Brown said. “It’s big to be able to secure and make sure we’re able to maintain what we have.”
The supplies include engineering supplies, goggles, aprons and lab kits.
Cedar Hill ISD has four engineering teachers – Dr. Mikos Smith and Curtis Morgan at the Dr. Peggy M. Wilson STEM Center, Brian Hicks at Permenter Middle School and Tammy Jessie at Bessie Coleman Middle School. The classes include Principles of Engineering, Robotics and Aerospace Engineering.
